The world as I see it
I have been fascinated by photography since I was a teenager. My first camera was a Kodak Instamatic and at that time, I didn’t know anything about composition, lights, whatsoever, but I was intrigued by that little box that could capture a precise moment.
After a number of years I bought my first reflex (SLR) camera. It was an Olympus Om101 power focus. I could certainly express myself better, and whilst I took thousands of photos, photography was still too expensive to be anything more than a hobby.
The digital era democratized photography, and smartphones did the rest. There are now millions of photos spread out across the internet. Everybody can capture that special image, memory or personal experience quite easily. For me however, a photo needs to tell a story, and should be unique. I love doing portraits, to capture a person’s inner self.
After taking a break due to other commitments In 2013 I began working as a freelancer and since then have greatly expanded my portfolio. Recent accomplishments include collaboration with a local newspaper (The Paper Underground), photo shoot ‘makeovers’ for a couple of websites, photographing birthday parties, baby showers, Christenings, and several studio photo-shoots.
